No other county college in the state has dropped county from their name except one which merged with another school

Conditions
Lost 25% of the faculty from attrition
Work increased during the pandemic, adapting curriculum, meeting with students when they were available as schedules changed
Administrator salaries are highest in the state, higher than comparable administrators at Rutgers
Same number of administrators as teachers
Likely $1 million spent in attorney fees spent in battling the union
Contract
The union asked to simply renew the last, that was denied
No raises for the last 3 years

The college administration tried to execute a scope petition with PERC with would have wiped out the teachers' serverances which eventually failed
Contention about insurance with controversial Board of Trustees member, Gary Taffet who also owns the insurance broker that works with the school
Thomas Emens, recent Middlesex College graduate who went on to Princeton and who recently won election for Jamesburg Borough Council shared how he was disinvited from a Democratic fundraiser and barred from future Democratic meetings until he apologizes to the county commissioners.
